I think I heard that debt settlement has helped out close to ten million people in the country. You then make one monthly payment to the consumer credit counseling company and they then pay each one of your creditors on your behalf. The drawback to this method is even though they lower your APR on your credit card accounts you could still pay back as much as 135% of what you currently owe.
