Smoking And Tobacco Use Increase Your Risk Of Receding Gums

Habits play a pivotal role in health problems. Smoking and tobacco use may not the direct causes of gum disease and receding gums, but they can be factors to its progression. Smokers who are undergoing gum disease treatments can make them ineffective. Aside from smoking, any tobacco products can also cause receding gums and increase chances of tooth loss. There are also other problems that are found to occur in people who are using tobacco products which includes: bad breath, stained teeth, oral cancer, tooth loss, bone loss, loss of taste, less success of periodontal disease treatments, unsuccessful dental implants, mouth sores, receding gums and wrinkling of the face. No doubt that smoking and tobacco use can greatly affect health in general.
