How To Quit Smoking Using Hypnosis
This article highlights some of the aspects which makes it strenuous for smokers to stop smoking. By taking notice to the various aspects of smoking cessation, it’s possible to use hypnosis to work with the unconscious mind, in order to get a straightforward and more pleasurable smoking cessation.
Each and every smoker I know – who have not stop smoking yet – has repeatedly attempted to stop smoking. It is not solely the several smoking bans that convince smokers to quit, it is in addition their surroundings and their finances. I recall pretty clearly, when I was a child how my siblings and I continually asked our grandmother to stop smoking. My grandmother smoked for several years and she told us that she wanted to stop but she could not. When she lost a sister to lung cancer, who also had smoked most of her life, my grandmother stopped and she has not smoked since. How can it be that it is so tough to quit smoking even if you want to?
I usually differentiate between consciousness and sub consciousness by saying that consciousness is the leader and sub consciousness is the manager. Consciousness sets the targets, and sub consciousness is the engine that makes sure that the targets are accomplished. When that the sub consciousness sets the routines and way of life it can be tricky to break them with will power and the power of consciousness alone.
There are numerous characteristics of smoking, which makes this more challenging than other behaviors. The first is nicotine. It has been recognized that nicotine is addictive and makes your body dependent, but despite that, the nicotine is somewhat fast to exit the body if you can stay smoke-free for just a a small number of days. Did you know that if you derive the concentrated total of nicotine that is in only one cigarette, and injected it straight into the veins of a horse, it would pass away. It is not a substance I would like to fill my body with even in the slightest amount.
I know a lot of smokers who have stayed smoke-free in several weeks or even months and then returned to cigarettes. After that long, it is not nicotine obsession that is the difficulty. The social aspect of smoking is also an central aspect. When a large assembly of people who have never met each other for the first time, it’s often smokers who learn to know each other only because they have this joint vice. I find this characteristic of cigarettes quite constructive, unfortunately, is not positive enough to make up for the dangerous costs smoking has on both the smoker and his or hers friends. Richard Bandler – co-creator of NLP – illustrates in one of his books a meeting he had with a man who wanted to quit smoking. After a single treatment, he was a non-smoker, but he began to have problems in his marriage. Bandler called both the man and his wife in, and after having observed them in the waiting room, he realized that it had something to do with cigarettes. Smoking had been a common thing they had, and since he no longer smoked, he did not participate in the mutual activity. He preferred not to be anywhere near her when she sat in the kitchen and smoked her cigarettes, which they had done previously and talked during the smoking. This facet is very important when you need to stop smoking. There is not much fun in stoping smoking, if your partner continues to smoke, neither for you or your partner.
It happens also that people are being pressured to stop smoking – just like we tried to push my grandmother. It may prove an unachievable mission to use hypnosis to stop smoking, if it’s not your own desire to stop smoking. Hypnosis is not manipulation as someone still thinks. You can not get people to do something they would not, otherwise we could just hypnotize all the criminals to quit crime, but regrettably it is not that simple. However, hypnosis and hypnotherapy is a terrific tool when you are ready to stop smoking. Countless smokers believe that it will be a hell both physically and mentally to stop smoking, but hypnosis can be used to ease withdrawal symptoms and remove the beliefs you have learned yourself, about how it is to stop smoking. If you imagine that it will be very challenging, then it will probably be very difficult.
Your hypnotherapist should also help make sure that your habit of smoking is not replaced by another bad habit, but instead results in a greater comfort for you and your acquaintances. Nobody would like you to be a non-smoker who was irritable or depressed.
If you after reading this article want to hear more about stopping smoking and hypnosis, so I suggest that you contact a hypnotist in your area or on the Internet and give him or her a call.
